The Team

Gerry is a director of The Irish School of Homeopathy. He was in the first-ever class when the School opened in 1988 and has been part of the School ever since. He has been a director of the School for 25 years and has overseen its development together with Angie his partner and a core team of skilled lecturers. As well as training as a Homeopath he also trained with MRCS as a relationship counsellor. Gerry has worked with The Irish Society of Homeopaths, the professional body for Homeopathy for over 25 years. During that time he has contributed to the development of the profession and continues to do so. He is the Chair of the Irish Society of Homeopaths Education Group, was the Irish representative with the ECCH and ICH for many years and was part of the working group for the European Homeopathic Education Guidelines. He was also part of the group that negotiated the voluntary self-regulation of Homeopathy in Ireland with The Department of Health and Children, 2005. He has a deep interest in human relationships and the unique personal process of each individual’s life journey. If we embrace our own process no matter how difficult or painful it might be at times we will become the person that only we can be with our own unique contribution to make to the world. Gerry believes that the work of the School must reflect this reality and by doing so will assist students on their personal journey. With this in mind, Gerry works with students in the area of their personal and professional development. He is also a keen motorcyclist and avid reader with an eclectic taste.

Angie is a company director of the School. She is married to Gerry and has been part of the office and school management for 30 years. In her spare time, she is an active gardener, stained glass artist and enjoys dancing. Prior to managing the school, Angie worked in the Vocational Education Committee – VEC, Ballsbridge and Dublin Institute of Technology -DIT in both business and also as a teacher. What she loves about working in the School is seeing the lives of students transform from their first steps in first year through to their graduation in fourth year. Getting to know students in between those years is a very special privilege and pleasure and one of the best parts of her job.

Niki Taylor qualified from the Irish School of Homeopathy and works both in Ireland and Spain. She works in Admin, organises Post Graduate Studies and is a Teacher at The Irish School of Homeopathy. Her role in admin means that you will most likely be in touch with when you get in contact with the school. She really loves learning and so with the Post Graduate courses she enjoys organising relevant postgraduate courses to support the newly qualified Homeopath in practice. It makes life after graduation interesting and exciting for the students. Niki was Chair of the Irish Society of Homeopaths for several years and is passionate about Homeopathy. She brings that passion to her teaching and is one of the core teachers in First year. She is one of the teachers you will meet if attending the Introductory Day and the Home Prescriber’s Certificate.

Dion studied at the London College of Homoeopathy, graduating in 1992 with the Licentiate of the College of Homoeopathy (LCH). This was followed up with post graduate study and the award of Member of the college of Homoeopathy (MCH) in 1994. He then continued studying with the Open University and graduated with a BSc(HONS) in Natural Sciences in 2003 and an MSc in Molecular Biology in 2007. Both of these degrees focused on human anatomy, physiology and pathology.
Dion has run clinics in Berkshire, Cornwall, Devon, London and now practises in Bristol. He initially began his teaching career at the London College of Homeopathy in 1994. Since then has gone on to teach undergraduates and postgraduates at various colleges in the UK, Ireland, Istanbul and New York with his easy going and approachable style. A well-received Webinar series was presented to locations all over Australia in 2015. Recently taken on the job as Clinical Skills and Casework module leader at the Centre of Homeopathic Education BSc course located at the London Homoeopathic Hospital.
He works closely with Mike Bridger at the Contemporary college of Homeopathy in Bristol, where they both run the college clinic together. Dion teaches Case Analysis Methods, Anatomy and Physiology and works in the college clinic alongside Mike. Mike and Dion co-founded and run the Orion Post-Graduate course, which is one of the longest running and most successful post graduate courses in the UK.
A very keen gardener, can tell you how to prune a wisteria in both June and January! Practitioner of the martial arts kenjutsu and karate, recently acquiring Shodan (black belt) grade. A committed vinyl junky; collecting reggae, punk and ska records. Played bass guitar in a reggae band in the past and flamenco guitar these days. A father of three kids, two girls and a boy.
Finally, Dion is a self-confessed Compton Burnett geek. A nerd, an anorak of the highest degree and is the author of the book “Burnett Rediscovered” which was published in the spring of 2017.This book describes Burnett’s work, prescribing style and clinical strategies

Gráinne originally trained as a teacher and enjoyed 20 years teaching young children. She first came to Homeopathy in Sydney when my first child suffered from recurring ear infections and it was recommended he have grommets. A friend suggested I take him to a Homeopath. I had never heard of Homeopathy but was willing to try it as the idea of my little boy having surgery wasn’t sitting very well with me. He was treated by the Homeopath and that was the end of all ear infections. From there it seemed a natural course to take whenever himself or his brothers were unwell. On returning to Ireland I attended an Introductory Course at The Irish School of Homeopathy and I was totally fascinated, loving the philosophy and learning about remedies and how they were selected. I immediately signed up for the professional course.

I started practising as soon as I graduated and I now practise in Carlow and Dublin. I find working as a Homeopath stimulating and I feel it is such an honour to be in a position to help the people I see.
I started teaching in The Irish School of Homeopathy in 2007. It seemed a natural progression to combine the two careers I have enjoyed so much. I feel the school is a very supportive, non-judgemental learning environment. There is a wonderful level of respect for the varied life experiences of the students. So often I have told the students, when they start the course, that to start studying Homeopathy means they will never be bored again! In Homeopathy there is always development and evolution of philosophy – it is lifelong learning.

Thérèse Cosgrove Lic ISH, ISHom, MNTOI, FITC Cert, BEng has been teaching with the Irish School of Homeopathy in various roles for over twenty years including Clinical and Academic Director. She has also taught post graduate courses on integrating holistic models of bio physiology into practice. Thérèse loves teaching and guiding the students as they develop and grow into practitioners.

Thérèse graduated from the school in 2002 and then completed a two year post graduate course with the school. She subsequently trained in Nutritional Therapy, Functional Medicine, and Feldenkrais. She runs an integrative homeopathic practice incorporating nutrition and functional testing to target and optimise the wonderful healing alchemy of Homeopathy. Since integrating Feldenkrais into her practice, she is also working with innovative methods, prescribing remedies during movement lessons to unlock persistent patterns of injury, trauma and disease.

Thérèse has conducted a number of new remedy provings in Ireland and internationally, including YinYang, and her interest in food quality and replenishing the soil and the land, has guided her to make new remedies. She believes nature is our greatest teacher and healer, and as homeopaths we have the privilege of tapping into nature’s magic in a unique way.

I found Homeopathy through my children, and a determination to help my children through illness in the most natural way possible. After seeing how Homeopathy helped clear my little girls skin issues I wanted to learn more. I enrolled in the Home Prescribers course to learn more. At this course, under the guidance of Brenda Coller, Homeopathy made perfect sense to me as a healing modality and I decided to use Homeopathy as my medicine cabinet in our home.
I graduated from the Irish School of Homeopathy in June 2017 and opened my clinic in 2016 while a student. I had the honour of studying at The Song Homeopathy school and clinic in India in 2016 with Dr Rajan Sankran and other wonderful Homeopathic teachers during my time studying at the Irish College of Homeopathy.
I continued my studies in Homeopathy & Human Chemistry, qualifying as a practitioner in 2017. And also completed Post Graduate Training in Clinical Imbalances, Kingdoms and Minerals in Homeopathy in 2017 – 2018.
I trained as a Biofeedback practitioner in 2018, and also graduated as the first Irish Homeobotanical Practitioner in February 2020. Both modalities use Homeopathy, herbs and nutrition in a holistic way.
Inspired by the Post Graduate Training in Clonical Imbalances, I went on the graduate as a Nutritional Therapist from the College of Integrated Nutrition & Homeopathy in June 2020.
Homeopathy has been a gift to my family. My children now choose Homeopathy as their preferred medicine, empowering my family to understand more about their health choices.
I believe each individual person has the ability to take control of their own health and wellbeing with simple steps, and am honoured to share my experience and knowledge with students at the Irish School of Homeopathy.

Steffi qualified from the Irish School of Homeopathy in 2022. She has been working as a practitioner since then. One of her passions is to teach others and share knowledge on homeopathy. She feels very privileged to be able to do just that by teaching in 1st Year in the school. You will also meet her during some of the Introductory Days throughout the year.    

Steffi has attended several post-graduate courses, including courses with Dr. Jonathan Hardy, Dr. Shekhar Algundki and Kim Kalina. She first learnt about homeopathy when her first child was born – for first aid coughs and colds – fast forward 17 years and homeopathy is part of everyday life in Steffi’s family. The most used phrase in her house is “There’s a remedy for that.” Working with a homeopath from 2017 onwards led Steffi to seek a different life path for herself and she decided to train as a homeopath herself at the Irish School of Homeopathy in Dublin. The professional course inspired her so much that she decided to give up a longstanding full-time position in a multinational software company and become a full-time homeopath.

Steffi has a busy practice in the beautiful West of Ireland and online worldwide – helping others to achieve a healthier, happier, and more balanced life.

In her free time Steffi is a passionate martial artist, and enjoys crafting, nature, gardening and lots of homeopathy.

I, like many, came to Homeopathy through my children. Having resolved their frequent acutes,
Allergies and eczema with the help of the Homeopath, I was hooked! I decided to pursue a career as a Homeopath myself, and graduated from the Irish School of Homeopathy in Cork in 2018.
I have a particular interest in treating children with disabilities and complex needs, I also see a lot of patients suffering from anxiety and depression.
I am passionate about helping more Homeopaths to make it into Practice having done a lot of work to get there myself! More Homeopaths, thriving in practice enriches both the Homeopathic Community and the clients that we help.
In my spare time, I like to get out in nature for a walk and I practice a little Yoga.

Declan Hammond is a homeopath, transpersonal therapist and shamanic practitioner. He is a co-founder and former director of The Irish School of Homeopathy. Homeopathy found him in 1976 and it continues to inspire and amaze him with its enormous healing potential for both patients and practitioners
Declan is a hugely passionate teacher and he has taught homeopathic courses and seminars in Denmark, India, Indonesia, England, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Wales, Israel and New Zealand. He has also presented papers at many international conferences; taught numerous webinars; had articles published in all the major homeopathic journals and is currently featured in many podcasts.
He has a particular interest in men’s health and supporting patients with mental/spiritual health challenges, such as Spiritual Emergency/Psychosis type experiences. He has done extensive work in the drug harm reduction and plant medicine integration fields and is a founder director of the music festival welfare organisation PsyCare Ireland.

Discovering (1976) homeopathy to be a most powerful natural healing system, I had the honor to help roll out homeopathy in Europe, by setting up 3 schools and homeopathic societies – one of them in Ireland. I worked as as shared owner, director and teacher in these schools. Through the years, I discovered even more in my practice, that homeopathy is a unique, effective, fast and natural healing system, able to help people grow into natural and stable health. In fact, homeopathy is able to heal almost all types of diseases between conception and death. Yes, even supporting people in their death process, in peace and without opiates. And good news: homeopathy is the second biggest healing system worldwide – after regular medicine –  and growing.

Something more about myself: I teach homeopathy mixed with spirituality, lifestyle techniques and psychosofia ( understanding the nature of a human being) as well as the symbolism and meaning and message of any disease: how to read and use our body wisdom.  I help my clients to step into independence by taking care of their own health and life. Besides this all, homeopathy brought me deep insight and understanding of what  is the essence of a human being. And – important- what it means to live our lives to the fullest. Well, this is one of the clues of the art of living on Earth:: to follow our Hearts in love, joy and compassion – no matter what.

Ab Straatman, Holland

Mike Bridger has been practicing in the U.K. for forty years and teaching for as long. He has taught at most of the colleges in the U.K and internationally including Ireland, the U.S.A, Iceland, Finland, Serbia and Turkey He is the Principal of The Contemporary College of Homeopathy in Bristol, U.K. Mike is also director of The Orion Postgraduate Training Course held annually in London and the South West UK. He has spoken at conferences in the USA, U.K and Ireland. His publications include: ‘Up The Swannee to Atlantis’ for The Homeopath U.K no68: 1998; ‘Fool’s Gold.’ Article for ‘The American Homeopathic Journal’, 2000, USA.(Reprinted in Homeopathic Medical Association Journal, 2000, UK.) His work also includes an account of ‘Kali Carbonicum’ for ‘The Homeopath’(U.K).

Mike has worked from several clinics including two medical Centres and is a firm exponent of the notion of an integrative medical system which emphasises patient choice and a varied approach to health issues. He has been involved in research programmes including a trial run by Exeter University on the effect of homeopathic medicines as well as involved in an ‘Indigestion’ Trial run at Warwick House Medical Centre, Taunton where he worked as a homeopathic clinician.

He is a lecturer at the Irish School of Homeopathy and the Centre of Homeopathic Education, London.

Bill Rumble has been teaching at the school since 1993. He is a fellow of the Society of Homeopaths in UK and founder of the Welsh school of Homeopathy in Wales.
Bill is particularly interested in teaching Homeopathic philosophy: engaging with the process, taking the case and analysis. He believes that each of us can explore our own natural style and make it useful in our work as Homeopaths.
Bill has been in practice for 37 years and is as fascinated and excited with the process as ever.
He has taught and practiced In UK, Ireland, USA, Czech Republic, Ghana and Kenya, as well as running zoom classes around the world.
Bill lives on the Gower peninsula in South Wales with his family and dog (Milo). He has a full-time practice in Swansea.

My name is Sharon Foran. I am a 1st and 2nd year tutor and also supervisor to 3rd and fourth years. I love every aspect of this beginning with the first years who always display such enthusiasm and are so hungry for knowledge, to supervising the 4th years in completing their cases to qualify. It is such a great honour to help all of the students on their journeys to becoming a homoeopath.
I qualified from the Irish school of homoeopathy in 2013. I have also attended courses run by Mike Bridger, Ian Watson and Ali Welfare.
My journey in homoeopathy began in 1995 when I had my first consultation with my homoeopath while I was living in Italy and I have never looked back since. I have six children who have luckily never been to a doctor apart from when we needed X-rays to confirm broken bones homoeopathy is completely a way of life for us in every aspect
I am lucky enough to have a busy practise which I run from North County Dublin and I treat clients worldwide thanks to the beauty of the internet. I am honoured and privileged to be able to help people on their health journey throughout their lives. I love this job as really it is a vocation not a job and every day is a school day.

I’m passionate about obtaining health in a natural way. This passion has sent me on a wonderful journey of discovery. Homeopathy came into my life initially when my daughter developed a severe chest infection. After seeking help from my GP it became obvious that the prescribed drugs were not improving her situation and she was starting to develop a reaction to the antibiotics prescribed. I had to look elsewhere, thankfully I stumbled upon homeopathy and I haven’t looked back since.
It was wonderful to see my daughter’s health improve so rapidly and not alone did it clear her chest infection but it also dealt with an ongoing issue she was having – named conjunctivitis. It became obvious to me then that homeopathy treats the whole being – mentally, emotionally and physically. Over the last decade I have been using homeopathy in our family home and have been privileged to treat many clients presenting with a variety of health conditions.
Having studied Homeopathy for four years with The Irish School of Homeopathy I graduated in 2012, from there I went on to setup my own practice in Kenmare, Co. Kerry. This practice has grown and has now developed into a worldwide practice using the wonders of technology.
In 2016 I furthered my education by training in Placenta Encapsulation. Having met so many new Mums in my homeopathic practice, I could see the huge need for post-natal care and support. What better way of doing this than offering the placenta in an easy to take capsule as a specially formulated supplement for the new mother to take after the intense experience of labour.
My journey to date has fuelled my passion for natural healthcare. My mission is to empower others to take ownership of their health and open their minds to what our wonderful natural world has to offer. With this in mind I also provide supervision for homeopathy students from the Irish School of Homeopathy.
In my clinic I regularly work with a range of health conditions and have a keen interest in post-natal care and childhood behavioural issues.
I specialise in Natural Fertility – getting pregnant naturally using homeopathy.

First and Second year Student Tutor
I was born in Ireland and left when I was 7. I have lived in many different countries in the world as a child and an adult and eventually ended up on a beautiful island in the Caribbean called Anguilla. Although island living has its perks, once my kids came along, I knew it was time to return to Ireland in 2016 and that is when I discovered homeopathy. Practicing and teaching this fascinating subject is now my passion and I wish all students a wonderful journey throughout whatever courses they may select.
It is my firm belief that holistic treatment is the key and my dream is that one day all options will be easily available to us to choose the best course of action on an individual basis. Nutrition and lifestyle are key.
Education: I am a lawyer, scuba diving instructor and a homeopath and have enjoyed all aspects of each career!
